Robert A. Bridges, M.D., is a native of Texas, originally from Austin. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he also completed an internship and General Surgery residency. He completed his fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Bridges has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1981.

Dr. Bridges is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He also holds a certificate of Special Qualifications in General Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Bridges specializes in Vascular Surgery.

He has served as Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas and San Antonio. He is an active member of the Texas Surgical Society, San Antonio Vascular Society, American Association for Vascular Surgery, Parkland Surgical Society, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society. Dr. Bridges has authored and co-authored various research articles in his specialty.
